Official: When will Ramadan Eid be celebrated in Uzbekistan?

112139Ramadan Eid will be widely celebrated in Uzbekistan on March 30, 2025. This was established by a resolution adopted today, March 26, by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the resolution, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan confirmed that the first day of Ramadan Eid this year falls on Sunday, March 30. Based on this, the holiday will be widely observed across the country.
Additionally, in accordance with Article 208 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
- Since the first day of Ramadan Eid, a non-working holiday, falls on a Sunday in 2025, the day off will be moved to Monday, March 31.
- It is acknowledged that for work that cannot be suspended due to production, technical, or organizational conditions—such as continuous production, daily services to the population, and shift-based work—days off will not be postponed.
Furthermore, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city khokimiyats, in cooperation with the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, the National Agency for Social Protection, and other partner organizations, will take necessary measures to ensure that Ramadan Eid is celebrated in accordance with the national traditions and customs of the Uzbek people.
The Tourism Committee, together with the Ministry of Transport, has been instructed to create favorable conditions for Uzbek citizens to visit sacred shrines and historical sites during Ramadan Eid.
The National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan, and other media outlets are encouraged to provide extensive coverage of events related to the celebration.
The implementation of this resolution will be overseen by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Presidential Advisor Ruslanbek Davletov.
It should be noted that earlier reports confirmed that Eid al-Fitr will also be celebrated on March 30 in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia.
