Public transport is used to moving during the “most profitable” time of the day – Mirziyoyev

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized that transport companies are focused on fulfilling the daily “revenue plan” and run their services during the “most profitable” time of the day (8-10 a.m., 5-7 p.m. in the evening).  This was mentioned today, 31 January at a meeting held in the presence of the President regarding the improvement of the public transport sector.

“The rest of the time, passengers have to wait a long time or take a taxi,” the President noted.

The head of state noted that problems have accumulated in this area, and in order to solve them, it is necessary to change the current work system in transport departments and bus fleets.

It was pointed out that the plan for the development of public transport has not been developed in some regional centers, some bus routes are not working, and there are not enough bus stops.

In this regard, the President defined the measures for introducing a new system for financing, organizing bus routes, updating the car park and improving the infrastructure.
