New EU ambassador in Uzbekistan starts work

4264The newly appointed European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar, has presented a copy of his credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Saidov, the country’s government is committed to strengthening relations between Central Asia and the European Union, aiming to achieve significant results. The European Union delegation in Uzbekistan confirmed that Ambassador Toivo Klaar officially began his duties on September 9 of this year.
For context, Toivo Klaar holds a master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Since 2017, Klaar has served as the EU’s Special Representative for the crisis in the South Caucasus and Georgia.
We remind you that Charlotte Adrian, the former EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan, recently concluded her diplomatic mission. She held the position since March 2021.
