8043The Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen—at the 1st Congress of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP)—announced the party's new election program and candidates.
Delegates elected from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city councils, members of the Political Council, the Central Audit Commission, the party faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, party activists, and media workers participated in the conference.
During the conference, discussions focused on the party's active participation in the elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the elections for people's deputies in regional, district, and city councils. It was noted that the decisions made during this process are crucial for determining the party's success in the elections.
At the conference, 75 candidates were nominated for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis in single-mandate districts (majoritarian system), and 100 candidates were nominated through the party list (proportional system).
Notably, 43% of the candidates are women. Additionally, it was highlighted that all 175 candidates have higher education; 63% of them are entrepreneurs and farmers, representatives of the economic sector; 25% are from science, education, culture, and social spheres; and 12% are lawyers. Furthermore, 19 of the candidates hold a PhD, and 12 have a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree.
As mentioned at the Congress, documents for all candidates will be submitted to the Central Election Commission for registration according to the established procedure.
