The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has issued a warning, urging caution against individuals producing counterfeit certificates and engaging in fraudulent activities in Turkey. The consulate conveyed this alert through its Telegram channel.
Instances of certain companies in Istanbul unlawfully providing fake documents to Uzbek citizens have escalated. These documents include falsified residence permits, certificates, and references, often claiming association with the USA, Canada, or European countries. The surge in fraudulent practices, leading to substantial financial losses due to visa issuance, is alarming.
Regrettably, a significant number of those involved in these deceitful actions are compatriots. The General Consulate disclosed that over 70 Turkish citizens are under investigation for document forgery this year alone.
Consequently, lawful residents in Turkey are encountering bureaucratic challenges. The General Consulate implores compatriots not to fall victim to such deceptive entities, emphasizing the illegality of submitting suspicious or counterfeit documents to Turkish authorities. Monetary transactions and sharing personal information with strangers are also strongly discouraged.
The report emphasizes that engaging in such activities is a criminal offense, and the consulate assures that no guilty party will go unpunished. Information on these criminals has been shared with the law enforcement agencies of Turkey and Uzbekistan, ensuring legal consequences.
In case individuals have suffered due to the actions of these deceptive entities, the Consulate General encourages them to report their grievances in writing or orally. Confidentiality of instructions and identity is guaranteed in such cases.
