Snow Fell in Two Regions of Uzbekistan

Erkin Abdulahatov, the leading expert of Uzgidromet and climate scientist, reported that it had snowed in Kitab, Shahrisabz, Yakkabog, and Dehkhanabad districts of the Kashkadarya region and around "Zomin sanatorium" in the Zomin district of the Jizzakh region.

As of 8:30 a.m. today, 6th May, the air temperature at the "Kol" observation station on Shahrisabz mountain of Kashkadarya region was 3 degrees.

Earlier in the morning, the temperature at the station was close to zero, and it snowed in mountainous regions 2 km above sea level due to the flow of moist air from the mountainous areas of the Kashkadarya.

It also snowed in the mountain villages "Aspidukhtar" and "Denovbulok" of the Kitab district of the region.

In addition, the "Zarmas" village in Yakkabog District and the mountainous areas of Oybek in Dehkhanabad District are covered with thick snow.

It is currently snowing in the village of "Sarichashma" in the Shahrisabz district.

According to information, the snow fall and the drop in temperature to zero degrees in the mountain villages of the region, 2200 meters above sea level, may have caused some fruits and flowers to suffer from frostbite.
