18197Uzbeks will enjoy a four-day break in celebration of Independence Day. This was stated in the decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, titled "On Establishing Non-Working Days and Moving Weekends During the Celebration of Official Dates in 2024."
According to the decree:
- August 31: An additional day off for employees who work six days a week.
- September 1: Independence Day.
- September 2: A rescheduled holiday (as Independence Day falls on a Sunday).
- September 3: An additional day off for everyone.
- From September 4, all employees will return to full-time work.
For information, classes in schools, academic lyceums, colleges, and technical institutes will begin on September 4, while higher education institutions will start on September 9.
