Weightlifter from Uzbekistan was disqualified for 4 years

36385Uzbek weightlifter Sardor Lapasov has been disqualified for four years for violating anti-doping rules, as reported by the press service of the National Anti-Doping Agency.
According to the doping test results obtained from the athlete during the competition, the substance "clenbuterol," which is included in the list of prohibited substances for 2024, was found in his body. This constitutes an anti-doping violation under Article 2.1 of the World Anti-Doping Code.
During a disqualification period, an individual cannot participate in international and national competitions and training camps until the disqualification period ends. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a lifetime ban. Additionally, the code stipulates that penalties may also be applied to a sports federation or association.
It is noteworthy that seven weightlifters from Uzbekistan were previously banned from competitions for four years due to doping. Their doping tests revealed the presence of banned substances such as metandienone, methasterone, testosterone, and canrenone, which belong to the S.1 group of anabolic steroid hormones.
