Uzbekistan ranks second with 44 medals at the Asian Weightlifting Championship

The Asian Junior and Youth Weightlifting Championship concluded in Qatar, with Uzbek athletes securing a total of 44 medals. The final day of the competition, held on December 25, revealed the last batch of winners.

Omadillo Olimov, competing in the +102 kg junior category, delivered an outstanding performance by lifting 156 kg in the snatch, 205 kg in the clean and jerk, and achieving a total of 361 kg. His remarkable results earned him three gold medals, making him the champion of his category. Olimov also competed in the youth category, where he added three bronze medals to Uzbekistan’s tally.

The Uzbek junior and youth national team finished the championship with 17 gold, 17 silver, and 10 bronze medals, placing second overall in the competition. More than 270 young athletes from 20 countries participated in the event.
