Uzbekistan finishes 3rd at Bahrain Weightlifting Championships

The World Weightlifting Championships in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, have concluded, with Uzbek athletes earning a total of 6 medals during the competition.

At the World Championships, which featured athletes from nearly 70 countries, the Uzbek team secured 3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals, claiming 3rd place in the overall team standings.

Ruslan Nuriddinov and Sharofiddin Amriddinov, competing in the -109 kg weight category, contributed 3 gold medals to the team’s score.

In the -89 kg weight category, Sarvarbek Zafarjonov claimed bronze in the clean and jerk, while Muhammadkadir Toshtemirov earned bronze in the clean and jerk and silver in wrestling in the -81 kg weight category.

Notably, Ruslan Nuriddinov became a three-time world champion during the competition, breaking the world record he had set three years ago in Tashkent with a clean and jerk of 242 kg.
