From which countries are the most people immigrating to Uzbekistan?

81.5% of Uzbeks moving to other countries for permanent residence choose Kazakhstan, according to the Statistics Agency.

It was noted that during the first six months, more than five thousand citizens of Uzbekistan moved to various countries for permanent residence. The majority, 4,128 people, moved to Kazakhstan. Additionally, 760 people moved to Russia, 34 to Kyrgyzstan, 37 to South Korea, 14 to Turkmenistan, and 93 to other countries for permanent residence.

Furthermore, 1,080 people from foreign countries immigrated to Uzbekistan for permanent residence from January to June. Most of them were citizens of Russia (36.1%) and Kazakhstan (24.1%).

In the first half of this year, 116,600 people moved from one region to another within the country, compared to 106,300 people in the corresponding period of 2023. Among them, 50,700 were men and 65,900 were women. The number of immigrants was 87,000 in cities and 29,600 in villages.

The largest share of those who moved within half a year was recorded in Tashkent city (44,605 people), while the smallest share was in the Namangan region (1,649 people).

The number of people who migrated across the republic in six months was 120,600, compared to 113,700 during the corresponding period of 2023. Of these, 52,800 were men and 67,800 were women. The number of emigrants was 83,900 in cities and 36,700 in villages.

Tashkent city (35,540 people) and Namangan region (2,710 people) accounted for the largest share of emigrants.
