Most citizens of Turkmenistan visit Uzbekistan for commercial purposes, according to the press service of the Statistics Agency.
In January-June 2024, 65,000 foreign citizens came to the Republic of Uzbekistan for commercial purposes. This figure has increased by 42,000 people, or 2.8 times, compared to the same period last year.
The number of foreign citizens by country is as follows:
- Turkmenistan: 37,942 people
- Tajikistan: 21,451 people
- Afghanistan: 1,569 people
- China: 723 people
- India: 582 people
- Turkey: 529 people
- Kyrgyz Republic: 385 people
- South Korea: 329 people
- USA: 199 people
- Russia: 157 people
- Other countries: 1,102 people
