Average monthly salary in Uzbekistan nears 6 million soums

In the first half of 2025, the average monthly salary in Uzbekistan approached 6 million soums. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, the average salary amounted to exactly 5 million 982 thousand soums—an increase of more than 17 percent compared to the same period last year.

It was noted that the highest average salaries were recorded in Tashkent, exceeding 10 million soums. Tashkent is followed by the Navoi region (7.48 million soums) and the Tashkent region (5.67 million soums). The lowest average salary was observed in Kashkadarya, at approximately 4.1 million soums.

Significant differences were also observed by sector. Employees in the finance and insurance industries earned over 16 million soums on average. The information and communication technology sector also ranked among the highest-paying fields, with average salaries exceeding 14 million soums. Programmers, in particular, had the highest average salary, earning more than 19 million soums.

In contrast, workers in the healthcare sector earned an average of 3.6 million soums. While academic staff in higher education institutions received around 9.5 million soums per month, kindergarten educators earned only about 2.2 million. The average monthly salary in the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector stood at 5.03 million soums.

It should be recalled that earlier reports indicated the average nominal monthly salary in the first quarter of 2025 was 5 million 796.1 thousand soums, reflecting an 18 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
