6854In 2023, one out of every six marriages concluded with a divorce, according to reports from the Statistics Agency.
By January 1, 2024, a total of 283,800 marriages were officially registered in Uzbekistan within a year. Among these, 49,200 couples terminated their marital unions. This indicates a significant rise in divorce rates in recent years. To put it in perspective, 39,300 families divorced in 2021, and the number increased to 48,700 in 2022.
Furthermore, as of January 1, Uzbekistan's population stood at 36,008,000 people, with 18,300,000 being women and 18,500,000 being men. Among them, 18,800,000 reside in urban areas, while 18,000,000 live in rural regions.
Migration Figures:
- Immigrants: 218,8 thousand individuals.
- Emigrants: 233,2 thousand individuals.
External Migration:
The number of emigrants exceeds immigrants by a significant margin:
- Immigrants: 2,9 thousand individuals.
- Emigrants: 17,3 thousand individuals.
It's worth noting that the country's population has increased by 774,800 people since the beginning of 2023.
