Uzbekistan to reform pension system

92157The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution titled "On Organizational Measures to Develop the Concept of Reforming the State Pension System."
As part of the resolution, a working group will be established to analyze existing issues within the current pension system and propose measures to ensure the system’s stability and strengthen social justice, drawing on advanced international experience.
The working group is tasked with developing and presenting a draft concept for reforming the state pension system by March 1, 2025.
The group will have the authority to engage specialists from various ministries and departments, scientific and educational institutions, international organizations, local and foreign experts, and consultants to fulfill its mandate.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov will lead the working group.
It should also be noted that, as previously reported, starting from March 1, 2025, pensions will be automatically assigned to citizens upon reaching retirement age, without requiring any documentation or formal application from the individual.
