4774Uzbek and American companies have signed cooperation agreements in the field of mineral resources, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade announced on April 9.
A delegation led by Minister Laziz Kudratov is currently visiting the United States, holding meetings and negotiations with executives from major companies, corporations, and industrial associations.
As part of the visit, meetings were held on April 7 with enterprises involved in the mining, hospitality, and food industries. During these meetings, the Uzbek delegation presented attractive investment proposals and highlighted the favorable conditions for doing business in Uzbekistan.
“The company executives expressed high appreciation for the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and showed willingness to expand cooperation, building on the successful operations of U.S. companies already active in the country,” the ministry stated.
As a result of the meetings, several agreements were signed focusing on mineral exploration and extraction. These include investments in high-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) complexes, the introduction of innovative technologies, the development of value-added production using key raw materials, and the upskilling of Uzbek specialists.
Agreements were also reached concerning the tourism sector, specifically the timeline for the construction of new hotels.
“The agreements were formalized with the appointment of dedicated project managers for each initiative. The delegation from the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade continues its visit to the United States,” the ministry added.
It is worth noting that on September 16 of last year, U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick and Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology Omonullo Nasriddinkhojaev signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the mineral sector.
