Crimes committed by officials in Uzbekistan were disclosed

10745In the first six months of 2024, 2,389 officials were prosecuted, according to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It is noted that among the officials criminally prosecuted from January to June, 23 were at the republican level, 223 at the regional level, and 2,143 at the district (city) level.
Among the officials held accountable, 1,467 committed misappropriation of someone else's property or robbery by way of fraud. Additionally, 158 officials were arrested for bribery and mediation, with fraud ranking third at 191 individuals. Furthermore, 104 officials abused their authority, 30 exceeded their powers or official authority, 48 allowed falsification of their official position, and 28 displayed indifference to their position. The remaining 363 committed other offenses.
For reference, in 2023, these figures amounted to 1,778 individuals, and officials were accused in 1,804 criminal cases.
