A total of 12 officials were dismissed from their positions at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2024, according to a briefing held on January 15 by the Ministry's press secretary, Sirojiddin Usarov.

In 2024, the Ministry conducted 10 service inspections aimed at combating corruption, focusing on violations related to public procurement. In 19 cases, disciplinary actions were taken in accordance with the Labor Code, with measures applied to responsible employees as per legal procedures.

Additionally, employment contracts were terminated for 12 managers and officials who failed to meet legal requirements, while 20 others were subjected to disciplinary measures, referred to as a warning.

It is worth noting that earlier, Akmal Burhonov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, announced plans to introduce a system for evaluating the corruption risk of civil servants. This new approach will assess the potential for corruption among individuals in management positions and those being considered for such roles.
