Currently, approximately 42,000 small and medium-sized enterprises in Uzbekistan are led by women. This information was shared by Malika Kodirkhonova, the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women and Gender Equality.

QALAMPIR.UZ journalist reported from the Senate meeting that during the discussion of the Law "On Approving the Entrepreneurship Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan," it was mentioned that more than 140,000, or 42%, of the 243,000 individual entrepreneurs operating in the commercial sector are women.

It is worth noting that we previously reported on the Senate's approval of the Law "On Approving the Business Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The Entrepreneurship Code highlights the importance of women and youth entrepreneurship, emphasizing that it aims to provide them with decent employment and a source of income through their active involvement in entrepreneurial activities.
