2467A new regulation, approved by the President's resolution on November 20, outlines the procedure for issuing, granting, and canceling the "Vatandosh" certificate and card for individuals wishing to actively participate in Uzbekistan's economic and social life.
The "Vatandosh" certificate serves as recognition for compatriots living abroad who have made significant contributions to Uzbekistan's development. It is awarded to those who have actively engaged in strengthening Uzbekistan's international relations, contributed to charitable activities, and supported the country’s economic and social growth.
The certificate is a prerequisite for obtaining the "Vatandosh" card, which is issued for five years, with validity tied to the expiration of the holder's national passport.
Rights and Benefits for Cardholders:
- Visa-free entry and exit to Uzbekistan.
- Exemption from real estate purchase limits is set for foreign citizens and no requirement for a residence permit when acquiring property.
- Right to engage in labor activities in Uzbekistan without the need for work permits typically required of foreign nationals.
- Access to medical, educational, and other state services on the same terms as Uzbek citizens.
Privileges for Family Members: The immediate family of cardholders (parents, spouses, and minor children) will receive:
- A multiple-entry visa without state fees, can be extended indefinitely without leaving Uzbekistan.
- Access to medical, educational, and public services under the same conditions as Uzbek citizens.
- Temporary residence registration with no state duty charges.
- This new initiative is designed to enhance the involvement of the Uzbek diaspora in the country's ongoing development while offering them significant benefits.
