1977In October this year, Uzbek authorities removed 255 kilograms and 420 grams of narcotics from illegal circulation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the nationwide "Urgent Month on Combating Drug Addiction," conducted in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and relevant organizations, 1,155 cases were identified, leading to significant seizures of illegal substances.
These included 99 kg of marijuana, 67 kg of heroin, 63 kg of hashish, 15 kg of synthetic drugs, 11 kg of opium, and 691 grams of poppy.
Additionally, 824,474 units of powerful drugs were intercepted, and groups distributing them using the "zakladka" method were dismantled. Joint operations across regions also resulted in the identification and destruction of 287 narcotic plants. The estimated retail value of the seized substances was 161.4 billion soums.
In related news, approximately 65 kilograms of hashish smuggled from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were confiscated earlier.
