3493Starting from October 2, "Uzbekistan Airlines" has rerouted its flights to bypass the airspace of Iraq and Iran due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The airline's press service confirmed that this decision was made to ensure passenger safety.
Flights are now being conducted around Iraqi airspace and the western part of Iran following instructions from the Civil Aviation Agency, which aims to maintain the safety of civil aircraft operations. This rerouting will remain in effect until further notice.
Despite the changes, regular flights on the Tashkent - Tel Aviv - Samarkand/Tashkent routes will continue using alternative pathways.
For context, on the evening of October 1, Iran launched missile strikes against Israel, firing around 200 rockets. Israeli military authorities later allowed residents to leave shelters and promised a strong retaliatory strike across the Middle East.
Additionally, "Flynas" and "Qeshm Air" temporarily suspended their flights to Uzbekistan due to the rising tensions and partial closure of Iran’s airspace. Kazakhstan airlines were similarly advised to avoid flying over Iranian territory.
