President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, commenting on the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, emphasized the urgent need to bring these hostilities to an end. He stated this on September 23 during his speech at the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Addressing the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the president called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of political negotiations.
“We are firm supporters of the principle of ‘two states for two peoples’ in accordance with UN resolutions,” Mirziyoyev said from the UN rostrum.
The Uzbek leader also expressed deep concern over the situation in Ukraine and welcomed the start of high-level dialogues aimed at resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.
Speaking about the need to ensure sustainable development for all, Mirziyoyev drew attention to the importance of preventing inequality in access to digital development and artificial intelligence between countries. In this regard, he proposed the creation of an international cooperation mechanism focused on the impartial exchange of practical solutions and AI models in healthcare, education, and culture.
It should be noted that on the eve of the UN session, the situation in Gaza remained at the center of global attention. Dozens of European countries officially recognized the State of Palestine during the event, and world leaders held consultations aimed at ending the bloodshed.
It is also worth noting that in his speech, President Mirziyoyev called on the international community to unite its efforts to support the Afghan people’s aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous life, emphasizing the importance of preventing the country’s isolation.
