Uzbekistan’s foreign reserves decline for the third month in a row

As of 1 October this year, the gross international reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 33 billion 496.1 million dollars.  This is $583.8 million less than last month.  This was reported by the Central Bank.

The physical balance of gold in reserves is 12.5 million troy ounces, which is 0.2 million troy ounces more than in the previous comparison.  Its financial value declined from $21 billion to $20 billion and $977 million.

Reserve assets in foreign currency (in freely convertible foreign currency) declined from $12 billion to $11 billion, $502.3 million.

International reserves consist of foreign exchange reserves, special drawing rights, International Monetary Fund reserve positions, and gold.  Foreign currency mainly includes cash held in banks.

For information, the gross international reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the beginning of 2022 will amount to 1.64 billion dollars.  Dollars decreased by 4.7 percent.  In this case, the impact of the fall in the price of gold from 1799.25 to 1672.75 dollars at the beginning of the year is 1.59 billion dollars.
