Dilshod Akhatov, appointed as Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to the Principality of Liechtenstein, presented his credentials to the country’s Crown Prince Alois, the “Dunyo” news agency reported.

The Crown Prince of Liechtenstein expressed support for the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and for the efforts to further develop mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

He particularly noted that this is the first time in history that Uzbekistan has appointed an ambassador to the country.

It was emphasized that the establishment of diplomatic relations between Liechtenstein and Uzbekistan in March 2024 has created an important foundation for continuing cooperation systematically, and that Vaduz supports the expansion and strengthening of relations with Tashkent.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prince Alois conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and wished peace and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek delegation also held a meeting with Sabine Monauni, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Environment, and Culture of Liechtenstein. During the talks, the constructive dialogue between the two countries within the framework of the UN and other international organizations was highly praised.

It is worth noting that Dilshod Akhatov presented his credentials to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Germany in October 2023. To date, he also serves as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Switzerland and the Czech Republic on a concurrent basis.
