Lithuanian president receives credentials from Uzbek ambassador

1668On February 11, Temur Rahmonov, appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Lithuania, presented his credentials to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, according to Dunyo.
Following the official ceremony, a friendly dialogue took place between the two.
“During the dialogue, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Lithuania were discussed,” the report states.
The Lithuanian President highly appreciated the development of political dialogue and bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Vilnius and Tashkent.
President Gitanas Nauseda also expressed Lithuania’s support for Uzbekistan’s initiatives within the EU and its accession to the World Trade Organization.
For information, Temur Rahmonov is 46 years old and fluent in Russian, English, Polish, and Spanish. He graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Rahmonov began his career at the Foreign Ministry in 1999 and has held various positions in the ministry's central office, as well as in the embassies of Uzbekistan in Poland, Italy, and Spain. In 2017–2018, he served as the head of the Urgench territorial department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as deputy khokim of the Khorezm region, overseeing investments, innovations, support for privatized enterprises, and the development of free economic and small industrial zones.
From 2021 to March 2024, Temur Rahmonov served as Consul General in Novosibirsk, representing Uzbekistan in the Siberian Federal District of Russia. Last year, he was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Latvia and arrived in Riga on March 13.
