Furqat Siddiqov also becomes Ambassador to Brazil

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador based in Washington, Furqat Siddiqov, presented his credentials to President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The Dunyo news agency reported this on July 10.
It was noted that the solemn ceremony, held at the Itamaraty Palace for official events, was attended by representatives of Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Administration. During the conversation, the Brazilian President asked that his sincere greetings and best wishes be conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan and the entire Uzbek people.
At the event, the Brazilian side emphasized that it views Uzbekistan as a promising and reliable partner and expressed interest in further deepening bilateral relations. The parties also exchanged views on intensifying high-level political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, and further enriching practical interaction between the two countries.
The hosts also expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for its consistent support of Brazil’s initiatives at the United Nations, BRICS and other international platforms.
It was reported that during the visit, Ambassador Furqat Siddiqov held bilateral talks with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira; Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services and Presidential Adviser Rogério Ceron; Deputy Foreign Minister Sérgio Klein; and President of the state agency ApexBrasil Jorge Viana.
“It was a great honor for me to present my credentials to His Excellency President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Brazil is one of Uzbekistan’s important partners in Latin America. We will continue our active efforts to further strengthen ties between our countries,” Ambassador Furqat Siddiqov wrote on his X page after the meeting.
For reference, Furqat Siddiqov is Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the United States and Canada. He previously served as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan.
