Uzbekistan joins BRICS as a partner country

6049As reported by BRICS News, 13 new countries, including Uzbekistan, were added as partner countries to the alliance on October 24 during the BRICS summit in Kazan, which Russia chaired.
The nations that have officially joined as partner countries, rather than full members, are:
- Algeria
- Belarus
- Bolivia
- Cuba
- Indonesia
- Kazakhstan
- Malaysia
- Nigeria
- Thailand
- Turkey
- Uganda
- Uzbekistan
- Vietnam

Kazakhstan, among the new partner countries, had previously received offers to join the alliance. However, it has been suggested that Kazakhstan will likely refrain from full membership, considering the gradual process and other strategic factors related to BRICS' development.
During the plenary session of the "BRICS Plus" summit on October 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reiterated Uzbekistan's readiness to join the BRICS Investment Platform, a proposal initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
