Uzbekistan also becomes strategic partner with Belarus

Today, July 9, following the talks, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a declaration on establishing strategic partnership relations. The press service of the Uzbek leader reported this.
A number of bilateral documents were also exchanged in the presence of the heads of state. These included:
- an action plan for the development of trade, economic, social and humanitarian cooperation in 2026-2030;
- a consultation program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for 2026-2027;
- a protocol on amendments and additions to the agreement “On mutual travel of citizens” dated January 19, 2005;
- an agreement on the organized reception and employment of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan for temporary labor activity in the territory of the Republic of Belarus;
- an agreement on cooperation in the development of forestry;
- a cultural cooperation program for 2026-2028;
- an action plan for cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus for 2027-2028;
- a joint action plan for 2026-2027 to increase mutual tourist flows and develop cooperation in tourism;
- a roadmap for further deepening cooperation in the agro-industrial sector in 2026-2028;
- a protocol on cooperation in light industry between the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Belarus’ Bellegprom state concern;
- a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in social protection between the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus;
- a memorandum of understanding on financial issues between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus;
- a memorandum on establishing the Uzbekistan-Belarus Expert Council between the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies;
- a memorandum of understanding on the development of investment cooperation in the agro-industrial sector between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus;
- a memorandum of understanding on scientific and technical cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
A memorandum was also signed during the visit between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research.
Earlier, it was reported that President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had held talks in a narrow format and with the participation of members of the official delegations.
It should be noted that in early July this year, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze signed a declaration on establishing strategic partnership relations.
