Fake employee of “Uzbekfilm” was caught with a bribe

6590According to the State Security Service, several officials in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Tashkent regions have been apprehended in bribery cases.
In one instance, a Tashkent resident born in 1975 falsely claimed to be a high-ranking employee of the state unitary enterprise "Uzbekfilm." He was arrested while receiving $20,000 for granting permission to shoot a multi-part series about a female convict serving a sentence in the Tashkent region penitentiary. The bribe was solicited through connections at the Art Council of the Cinematography Agency.
In a separate case, the deputy head of the Southern Mining Department at the joint-stock company "Navoi Mining-Metallurgical Combine" was arrested for accepting $5,000 to secure employment for two Kushrabot district, Samarkand region residents. It was discovered during the investigation that this individual had also taken a total of $9,000 from four citizens, promising employment at the "Zarmitan" mine in September 2023, which was used for personal purposes.
In another case in the Tashkent region, the head of a consulting firm was caught receiving $3,500 in return for securing a national certificate of foreign language proficiency for a citizen and enrolling him in a master's program at Tashkent State Law University.
Earlier, it was reported that in Jizzakh, the head of a prison was arrested for accepting a bribe to reduce a prisoner's sentence.
