In Uzbekistan, school teachers who provide individual lessons at home — including cases where they teach two or more students of the same age at the same address — will now receive a monthly travel allowance equal to one basic calculation unit (412,000 soums). The measure comes under Government Resolution No. 740 of November 24, 2025, which introduced amendments and additions to certain decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The changes aim to improve working conditions for education staff and cover their additional expenses. Under the resolution, teachers conducting one-on-one home lessons will receive travel compensation every month. The allowance also applies when teaching two or more students of the same age living at the same address.
School teachers in Uzbekistan who provide individual lessons at students’ homes will now receive a monthly travel allowance of 1 basic calculation unit (412,000 soums), provided the distance from the school to the student’s residence is at least 1.5 km. If multiple teachers are assigned to the same student, the compensation will be calculated proportionally based on the actual teaching hours of each teacher.
The resolution also includes provisions for state pre-school institutions. During periods when educators or medical nurses are temporarily absent, their duties will be formally assigned to substitutes under an internal order.
Substitute staff will receive 100% of the salary for the position performed, while other employees performing substitute duties will receive 50% of their regular salary. The total workload of staff working as substitutes must not exceed 1.5 full-time equivalents.
Previously, it was reported that around 60,000 teachers in schools were earning salaries ranging from 8 to 12 million soums.
