In Namangan city, a bunker organized by officials in the education system has been uncovered, the State Security Service reported.

According to investigators, the deputy director of a school in Davlatobod district, the head of a department at Namangan State Technical University, a departmental specialist, and others conspired to assist teachers remotely during certification exams for assigning qualification categories. They provided help through a bunker in exchange for financial gain.

During an urgent inspection, the premises used as the bunker were examined. Authorities found that 12 teachers had been involved in using the location to solve test questions. Material evidence, including laptops, 30 various hearing devices and hidden cameras, eight Wi-Fi routers, and other items, were seized.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deputy director and others promised positive exam results, demanding $1,300–$1,500 from each participating teacher. Between September and October of this year alone, they collected approximately $25,000.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 168, Part 3, Clause “b” (fraud) and Articles 28 and 211, Part 2, Clause “a” (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are ongoing.

The State Security Service noted that the deputy director and the individual managing the bunker, born in 2001, had previously been held accountable for committing similar crimes.

It is worth noting that earlier, a 47-year-old school teacher in Jizzakh region was arrested for selling narcotics.
