Uruguay appoints a new ambassador to Uzbekistan

1556The newly appointed Ambassador of Uruguay to Uzbekistan, Daniel Castillos Gomez, has presented a copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov. The Minister announced this on his Telegram channel.
"We have received the credentials of Daniel Castillos Gomez, the newly appointed Ambassador of Uruguay to Uzbekistan. There is a need to foster more active communication between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, parliaments, and other agencies... Welcome to Uzbekistan, Mr. Ambassador!" the Minister stated.
Bakhtiyor Saidov also noted that accelerating bilateral relations between the two countries opens the door to new opportunities, with mutual interest from both sides.
For context, Uzbekistan first established diplomatic relations with Uruguay on May 25, 1998. Previously, Enrique Juan Delgado Xenta served as Uruguay’s ambassador to Uzbekistan.
It is also worth noting that recently, the newly appointed Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar, handed over a copy of his credentials to Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. Additionally, Uzbekistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, presented his credentials to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
