Verdict was read out to the Uzbek who joined to fight against Ukraine

20340The judgment has been delivered for an Uzbek involved in Russia's military actions against Ukraine. QALAMPIR.UZ reviewed the court decision.
The court documents reveal that the young man, born in 2001 in the Amudarya district of Karakalpakstan, traveled to Moscow for work in December 2023. On February 5 of the current year, he agreed with the Moscow Department of the Ministry of Defense of Russia to participate in military operations against Ukraine in exchange for financial compensation: an initial payment of 195,000 rubles and an annual salary of 240,000 rubles.
He was assigned the military rank of "ordinary soldier" and appointed as a "shooter," undergoing specialized combat training.
On February 9, he fled the military camp, flew from Russia to Uzbekistan on the Moscow-Urganch flight, and returned to his home in the Amudarya district.
On June 24, the Amudarya District Criminal Court reviewed the case and found the individual guilty under Article 154 (Recruitment), Part 1 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to a restriction of freedom under Article 57 of the Criminal Code (Lesser Punishment).
It is worth noting that previously, a 26-year-old Uzbek who went to Russia for work and joined the "Wagner" group to fight against Ukraine was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of correctional labor, with 20% of his monthly salary deducted by the state.
