3820A woman who suffered domestic violence in Yekaterinburg, Russia, has returned to Uzbekistan along with her minor children with the help of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan. The case was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.
According to the Consulate General, on April 1, a citizen of Uzbekistan, identified as M.T., who was temporarily residing in Yekaterinburg, requested assistance in rescuing her daughter and grandchildren from abuse by her husband and helping them return to their permanent place of residence in Uzbekistan.
The family had moved to Yekaterinburg in January 2024 for work. However, frequent quarrels and psychological pressure within the household had a severe emotional impact on the woman. In response, representatives of the Consulate General visited the family’s home to assess the situation firsthand.
Following the visit, the woman and her children were provided with temporary shelter. Due to the expiration of their identification documents and their difficult financial circumstances, the Consulate General issued them certificates for return to Uzbekistan free of charge. In addition, the family was given flight tickets for the Yekaterinburg–Samarkand route.
On April 8, they were safely escorted from Koltsovo International Airport in Yekaterinburg to the Samarkand region.
It should be recalled that earlier, nine Uzbek children left without parental care in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, were also repatriated to Uzbekistan.
