3502Recent reports on social media highlighted difficulties in processing payment orders. The Tax Committee has provided clarification on the matter.
According to the committee, several banks transitioned to new information systems in September without prior notice, failing to inform the committee of these changes. Consequently, some payment orders have not been processed as bank programmers continue to make adjustments to the new systems.
Specifically, "Tengebank" returned 413 out of 2,439 assignments, while "Kapitalbank" returned 740 out of 4,287 assignments this month.
The Interregional Tax Inspectorate for Large Taxpayers has formally warned both banks to rectify these issues immediately and comply with their obligations as outlined in the Tax Code.
For context, payment orders are requests made by customers to their banks to transfer a specified amount from one account to another. These orders are essential for transactions between suppliers and buyers, tax residents and authorities (including taxes, fees, and fines), and between employers and employees (for wages and bonuses).
Additionally, it has been reported that amendments to Uzbekistan's Tax Code are underway, which aim to reduce financial penalties for fiscal violations. These changes are intended to further liberalize the responsibilities associated with tax legislation.
