Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has concluded his state visit to Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek President reported.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev saw Tokayev off at Tashkent-Humo International Airport, marking the official end of the Kazakh leader’s state visit.
Tokayev had visited Russia on a state visit on November 11–12 before arriving in Uzbekistan. At a press conference in Tashkent, the Kazakh President highlighted the success of the joint gas project between Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, noting plans to expand gas transit.
On November 16, Tokayev participated in a consultation meeting of Central Asian leaders in Tashkent, where he expressed support for the proposals put forward by President Mirziyoyev.
Earlier reports noted that, at Mirziyoyev’s invitation, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Tashkent on a working visit as an honorary guest for the seventh consultation meeting of Central Asian leaders and met with President Mirziyoyev.
Additionally, to attend the seventh consultation meeting, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon visited Tashkent. They held meetings and discussions with President Mirziyoyev, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization, and attended the award ceremony for the “Legacy of the Future” international prize winners.
Moreover, at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tashkent on a state visit on November 16.
During the seventh consultation meeting of Central Asian leaders, President Mirziyoyev advanced a series of regional initiatives.
