The Minister of Transport, Ilhom Mahkamov, has been elected as the head of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan, as reported by the Press Service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

It was stated that Ruslanbek Davletov, who previously held the position of Chairman of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan, voluntarily submitted his resignation letter, requesting to be released from his duties. The delegates approved his request.

The candidacy of Ilhom Rustamovich Mahkamov, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was proposed for the position of Chairman of the Basketball Federation of Uzbekistan, and it received unanimous approval from the conference participants.

For reference, Ilhom Mahkamov was born in 1979 in Tashkent. He has worked in the utility sector for many years, including serving as the General Director of the “Uzkommunkhizmat” agency and as the Head of the Information and Analysis Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, focusing on utility sector, transport, capital construction, and construction industry matters. Since 2021, he has been serving as the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
