Individuals illegally transporting a significant quantity of shrimp to Tashkent have been apprehended, according to a report by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

A coordinated control raid was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Samarkand Region, Kattaqorgon Reservoir, and Road Patrol Service. During the raid, a cargo vehicle loaded with sea shrimp was stopped at the Bulungur High Point post. The investigation revealed that the poachers were transporting 22,125 shrimp weighing 765.5 kg in 75 plastic containers.

As a result, nature sustained damage valued at 130 million 130 thousand soums. The shrimp were released into the Kattaqorgon Reservoir.

"The vehicle was impounded. Additionally, all documents collected in connection with the incident have been sent to the Samarkand regional prosecutor's office to identify the offenders and take legal action," the statement reads.

It is worth noting that earlier, Chinese customs officers apprehended a man who was attempting to smuggle more than 100 rare snakes in his pants.
