News spread on social networks that the village of Bogistan, home to the shrine of Sheikh Umar Vali's mausoleum, is turning into a garbage dump. The Cultural Heritage Agency responded to the situation.

Experts from the Tashkent regional administration of the Cultural Heritage Agency visited the site and conducted an investigation.

It is noted that the shrine of Sheikh Umar Vali Bogistani was protected by the Cabinet of Ministers' decision dated October 4, 2019, No. 846 "On the approval of the national list of immovable property objects of tangible cultural heritage."

Improvement works are currently underway in the area where the shrine is located. Special waste bins have been installed for visitors, and the area is regularly monitored by assigned staff.

"When the regional administration employees inspected the ancient site, they found that the kitchen, toilet, and washrooms for guests were well-maintained," the report states.

For information, the monument of Sheikh Umar Vali Baghistani, located in the "Bogiston" neighborhood, is a pilgrimage site dating back to the 7th-15th centuries.

We remind you that earlier in Namangan, it was reported that the construction manager who destroyed the historic mosque was arrested. His bail was converted to a precautionary measure after he paid three times the amount of the damage caused.
