1764Cases of viral hepatitis A, commonly referred to as "yellow fever," have been identified in schools No. 214 and 65 in Tashkent, according to the Tashkent City Department of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee.
Specialists from the Mirabad District Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee promptly conducted epidemiological investigations and sanitary inspections in response to the detection of these cases.
During the inspection, specialists examined:
- Medical examination records of students and school employees.
- Adherence to personal hygiene protocols.
- Cleanliness of the school building and classrooms, including the condition of equipment.
- Functionality and operation of heating systems.
- Hygiene standards in toilets, the availability and condition of handwashing facilities, and the sewage system.
The inspection revealed significant sanitary shortcomings at the schools. As a result, the principal of one of the schools was issued an administrative report for failing to meet sanitary standards.
Earlier reports suggested a dangerous virus spreading in Tashkent, with some cases leading to complications such as pneumonia, especially in children. However, the Tashkent City Department of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee refuted these claims, calling them unfounded.
