15161A disturbing video of teachers physically assaulting a student at the Target private school in the Almazor district of Tashkent has circulated widely on social media. The incident has prompted a response from the Children's Ombudsman.
Preliminary investigations revealed that G'.J., a 9th-grade student born in 2008, was subjected to physical force by school teachers A.F. and N.M. According to the findings of a court-appointed medical expert, G'.J. sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
In light of these events, legal action is being considered against teachers A.F. and N.M. for their actions.
This incident follows a prior report of a teacher at a school in Tashkent who allegedly abused a 6th grader on the first day of his employment. In that case, the teacher, identified as R.O., forcibly grabbed the student, E.G., by the ear, yanked him out of his seat, and slapped him in the face. The video evidence shows the teacher verbally abusing the student, pinning him against the blackboard, strangling him, and striking him multiple times. The parents of the student, upon discovering the abuse, have reported the teacher's behavior to law enforcement.
The situation has drawn international attention, with the Russian Federation requesting comments from Uzbekistan regarding the incident. During a meeting in New York, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov underscored the importance of respecting each other's internal affairs.
