7033Authorities in Tashkent have arrested individuals found in possession of drugs at a teahouse and a private residence in the Shaikhontohur and Yashnabad districts, as reported by the General Directorate of Internal Affairs.
In Shaikhontohur district, a man previously convicted and born in 1974 was found storing drugs at a local teahouse. Law enforcement officers discovered a significant quantity of narcotics hidden in various rooms of the establishment, along with material evidence related to drug consumption. The items were seized and handed over to the investigation department. The suspect has been detained, pending further legal action.
"Because of my problems, I started using them again. I apologize, and I regret my actions," the suspect said.
Another incident occurred in the Uysozlar neighborhood of Yashnabad district, where a 58-year-old man with a prior conviction was found storing drugs at his residence. During a search conducted with impartial witnesses, officers found 15 grams of narcotics and equipment used for drug consumption. The suspect claimed to have discovered the substances by chance.
"I found this substance wrapped in black cellophane under a tree near the parking lot in front of my office and brought it home," he stated.
Both cases have led to criminal charges under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and transfer of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances. Investigations are ongoing.
Additionally, authorities recently arrested an individual in the Mirabad district of Tashkent who was involved in producing synthetic drugs. During a search of the suspect's apartment, officers found various containers, gloves, scales, and gas masks, all documented as evidence. In a coordinated operation, police seized a total of 14.8 kilograms of synthetic drugs from two locations, valued at approximately $1 million.
