22054Reports circulating on social media claim that the demolition of 110,000 houses in Tashkent has begun. However, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services has denied these reports.
According to the ministry, ongoing work is being conducted to study and assess the seismic condition of multi-storey residential buildings across the country. These efforts are part of preventive measures aimed at ensuring public safety.
“One facility, which lacks official documentation, was found to be non-compliant with seismic standards. To ensure the safety of citizens, appropriate action has been taken in line with established procedures,” the ministry stated.
The ministry emphasized that no decisions or plans are currently in place for mass housing demolition.
“Citizens are urged not to believe unfounded claims spread by unreliable sources and to rely only on official information. We remind the public that the dissemination of false information is punishable by law,” the ministry added.
For reference, the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution dated December 24, 2024, approved the “Master Plan of Tashkent City for the Period Until 2045.” According to the plan, the capital is divided into three zones: conservation, reconstruction, and renovation.
It is worth recalling that a video previously circulated on social media showed an official in the Urgut district of the Samarkand region claiming that farmland belonging to those who refused to plant crops was being handed over to Chinese investors. The Ministry of Agriculture denied this claim.
