Drug dealer arrested in Tashkent

A man involved in the trafficking of potent drugs was arrested in the city of Bekabad, Tashkent region, according to the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The arrest took place during an operation carried out in cooperation with the Bekabad City Department of Internal Affairs. Authorities searched the home of U.U., a previously convicted individual from Zangiota district, who was suspected of trafficking potent drugs. During the search, police discovered 770 red-and-white "Zardex" capsules and 26 vials of "Tropicamide," both potent drugs intended for illegal distribution. These substances were seized as material evidence.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code, which addresses the illegal trafficking of potent or toxic substances. Investigations are ongoing.

Earlier, individuals involved in the sale of potent drugs were detained in the Sergeli and Yashnabad districts of Tashkent, with authorities seizing a total of 1,643 potent drugs valued at 131.4 million sums.
