On January 24, a man was arrested in Tashkent for storing various types of narcotic and psychotropic substances, as well as items used for packaging them. This was reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the city.

The arrest took place during a joint operation with law enforcement agencies in the Chilanzor district, where the apartment of R.I., born in 1993, was searched. Authorities discovered 29,702 individually wrapped doses of narcotic and psychotropic substances weighing a total of 132 grams. Also seized were three electronic scales, electrical tape, and "zip" packaging bags, which were documented as material evidence.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, which covers illegal actions related to the preparation, acquisition, storage, and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances. The suspect has been placed under arrest as a preventive measure.

In a separate operation in the Shaykhantohur district, a vehicle carrying H.A., born in 1982 and previously convicted of theft, and U.F., born in 1988, was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses. Authorities discovered 1,028 potent drug doses hidden inside the vehicle, and the evidence was duly documented.

The Shaykhantohur district's Federal Bureau of Investigation has initiated a criminal case under Article 2511 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the illegal manufacture, distribution, or promotion of substances similar to narcotics or psychotropic substances. Both suspects have been arrested pending further investigation.

Investigations into both cases are ongoing.

This follows earlier incidents in the Sergeli and Yashnabad districts of Tashkent, where individuals involved in the trade of potent drugs were also detained.
