5127A man from Tashkent region has been sentenced to three years in prison for repeatedly beating his daughters in an attempt to "educate" them. The details were obtained from court documents by QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to the court ruling, the 48-year-old defendant, originally from Kashkadarya region, lived in a rented house with his two 14-year-old daughters and a 17-year-old son. The children’s mother worked as a labor migrant in Russia, occasionally sending money home and visiting.
The daughters testified that their father frequently beat them with his hands and a floor mop for trivial reasons. When they tried to inform their mother, he threatened to kill them. The girls also revealed that their father spent the money sent by their mother on his own needs, leaving them hungry.
The girls documented several instances of violence on video and sent the footage to their mother. Upon seeing the videos, the mother contacted law enforcement.
A criminal case was opened under Article 110 (Torture), and the Zangiota District Court found the man guilty, sentencing him to three years in prison. The man admitted his guilt, claiming that his actions were intended to "educate" the girls because they did not listen to him.
This case follows another recent tragedy in Tashkent, where a 4-year-old girl died after being brutally beaten by her mother.
