7173In Olmalik, Tashkent region, schoolchildren were reportedly poisoned by contaminated water at a specialized Bukhara school. The incident has drawn the attention of the regional preschool and school education department, which has dispatched a working group to investigate the situation.

This incident follows a series of food poisoning cases in schools across Uzbekistan.
Earlier this year, in January, 33 students at a specialized boarding school in the Sariosia district of Surkhondarya region experienced symptoms of acute gastritis due to low-quality food served by an outsourced catering service.
In August, two kindergarten students in the Jizzakh region were also hospitalized for food poisoning.
Notably, 460 schoolchildren were poisoned in Kazakhstan earlier this year, highlighting ongoing concerns about food and water safety in educational institutions across the region.
