Tashkent fines 11 million sums in a single day for illegal garbage dumping

In Tashkent, authorities detected 16 cases of illegal garbage dumping in a single day, according to the Tashkent City Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.  

The department reported that it conducted another round of inspections targeting illegal waste disposal. During a raid on March 12, officials identified 16 violations of garbage disposal regulations across the capital.  

Administrative protocols were issued against the violators in accordance with Part 1 of Article 91-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, resulting in a total fine of 11,375,000 sums.  

According to Part 1 of Article 91-1, individuals who dispose of solid household or construction waste in unauthorized locations, or who dump liquid household waste, face fines ranging from one to three times the basic calculation amount (375,000 to 1,125,000 sums). For officials, fines range from 10 to 20 times the basic calculation amount, reaching between 3,750,000 and 7,500,000 sums.  

If the same violation is repeated within a year after an initial penalty, individuals may be fined between five and ten times the basic calculation amount (1,875,000 to 3,500,000 sums), while officials face fines ranging from 20 to 30 times (7,500,000 to 11,250,000 sums).  

Authorities previously announced that large-scale inspections are underway in Tashkent to crack down on waste dumping in unauthorized areas.
