10th grader strikes a pedestrian in Tashkent

In the Uchtepa district of Tashkent, a traffic accident occurred when the driver of a Malibu-2 struck a pedestrian. This incident was reported by the Traffic Safety Department of Tashkent city.

The accident happened on June 27 at around 20:10 in the Korkam Obod neighborhood, in front of the National Guard building. A 16-year-old, identified as A.Kh., was driving a Malibu-2 and hit a 39-year-old pedestrian born in 1985, who was crossing the road at an unmarked section.

The pedestrian sustained injuries and was hospitalized, with his condition reported as serious.

Inside the car were four 10th graders from school 312 in the Uchtepa district. They had rented the car, drove through a red light, and were speeding at the time of the accident.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Department of the Tashkent city MDIA under Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of safety rules for vehicle operation), part 1, and investigations are currently underway.

Earlier in Samarkand, a similar incident occurred where a schoolboy hit a 6-year-old girl while driving a Nexia-2. Despite receiving medical treatment, the girl did not survive.
